Fortress Case Study
Shear Pin Straps


Date: July 2016
Location: Canton MI
Contractor: Home Spec Basement Fix

Project Scope: Residential block foundation built in 1930s. All walls were in various modes of failure. Slab and footer were poured monolithic so Shear Pin Straps were used in conjunction with Carbon Kevlar Grid Straps and Kevlar Neckties. 2 of the walls were deemed too far out of tolerance therefore replaced.

Conclusion: By using the Shear Pin Straps it allowed contractor to save a major portion of foundation as well as saving homeowner expense of replacement.

Fortec Case Study
Carbon Anchors

Date: July 2016
Location: Columbus Georgia
Contractor: Engineered Solutions

Project Scope: Concrete Bridge to be reinforced for traffic. Small concrete beams were under designed.

Solution: One layer 600 gsm carbon fiber with carbon anchors were installed to achieve this.

Conclusion: Testing of Anchors prove to dramatically increase long term creep of the surface mounted carbon fiber under the flexural load. Project was completed in 2 days.
