Fortress Carbon Fiber Grid Mesh video

Fortress Stabilization Systems introduces a new design method:

Foam CoreFor the past year we have been working with decorative concrete contractors. A common question was “why do we need to have a countertop that weighs 300lbs to hold a cup of coffee?” The goal was to cut weight in half. A ¾” foam core was placed in center of mold. Then 2” X 2” carbon grid was stapled to both sides of foam. 1 ½” cores were drilled into foam allowing the concrete to bind to itself resulting in a lightweight countertop.

Water park columns

Project Scope: Many different size columns were cast in place as designed for foundation of various water slides. Vertical rebar cages were used however horizontal ties were missing during pour. Carbon fiber wrap was applied to add shear capacity that was missing from horizontal ties.

Conclusion: Column wraps were installed in less than 3 days and project was finished with Fortress 105 epoxy coating which allowed construction to continue and water park to open on July 4th deadline.
